Kickin’ off Fall

October 1, 2011

Last weekend we were in the mood for some fall food given the season change! Lately we have been spending all of our time on Pinterest (is anyone else addicted?) and came across this idea….

Mason Jar Chili

It’s so simple and quick. It would be perfect for a Sunday Football Party!

All you do is cook up your favorite Chili in a pot and after you have let it simmer a bit, spoon the Chili into a mason jar about 1/2 full. Then take your cornbread batter (I used Krusteaz) and spoon it over the top of the Chili leaving a few inches at the top for it to rise. You can also throw in some shredded cheese in between the spooning of Chili! Then, place the jars on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 375 for approximately 20 minutes or until the cornbread is golden brown.

This was such a delicious way to enjoy a traditional dish! The cornbread slightly absorbed the Chili making it ever so moist!!

We recommend serving the Chili with Pumpkin Beer for the full Fall effect!

Happy Fall!!!
